Why matariki should be a public holiday

Matariki should be a public holiday because there is not a maori holiday.

Matariki is in winter and there is not a public holiday in winter so its good to be inside in the warmth eating with your family and watch TV and go out for dinner. The way I would like to celebrate is with my family watching TV eating brunch. 

Matariki is the 7 sisters. The 7 sisters are the 7 stars but there are 9 stars but they are hard to see. They were named the 7 sisters because no one could see the other 2 stars. Also the celebration is to acknowledge the people who have passed.

    Great argument Malachi. I like how you used paragraphs to organise your ideas. A helpful suggestion is that you could have included some more ways that other people celebrate Matariki.

    Hi Malachi, I really like some of your ideas why Matariki should be a public holiday. Great job explaining about why some people say 7 sisters and some say 9 sisters. I wondered about that! Awesome work.
